Can we use a midi thru box with Zaquencer? My external synths doesn’t have midi thru, so the 2 outs of the BCR200 aren’t enough. Will a midi thru box or midi patch work?
December 2, 2014 at 8:22 pm #1570why not? its midi isnt it? i use a motu mtpav.
December 2, 2014 at 10:05 pm #1575One potential reason “why not” is that many of them are powered through MIDI, and possibly the BCR doesn’t have enough juice.
Not saying that is the case here, but it is possible.December 3, 2014 at 9:13 am #1577Good question.
I haven´t tried it yet with a Midi Through box.
I don´t see why it wouldn´t work, but I have just ordered a Kenton Midi Thru 5 to make sure.
I will post back my findings here.December 5, 2014 at 2:17 pm #1613Ok, the Kenton Midi Thru 5 arrived today and I can confirm that it works nicely with the Zaquencer. The setup is: all 4 tracks go out from the Zaquencer on Output A to the Midi Thru and are split from there to 4 synths. I can then adress every synth on it´s own Midi channel, exactly how it should be.

December 14, 2014 at 12:35 pm #1697Perfect! So a non-powered Midi Thru Box is also working?
December 27, 2014 at 11:07 pm #1809yes it will work like a charm. i tryed it and it works.
January 12, 2015 at 1:21 pm #1958Has anyone else experienced a problem receiving midi clock to the BCR2000 from another sequencer(master clock) through a Kenton midi thru 5?
It receives the clock when i hook the master directly to the BCR2000.
The Kenton Midi Thru is working as i’m sequencing or sending clock to 4 other machines.
January 13, 2015 at 10:29 am #1963Hi Neil,
I haven´t tried that case here and unfortunately I don´t have the Kenton anymore.
Are you able to record the Midi output of the Kenton into a PC with Midi Ox or similar?
Maybe I could see something in the data.January 13, 2015 at 1:06 pm #1965Forgive my stupidity for not checking the obvious….it was down to a faulty midi cable.. It works perfectly.
ps. Great work on this product. It’s taken a dust collector and transformed it into a creative tool that will now be used every day
January 13, 2015 at 1:20 pm #1966Great to hear!
Thanks for posting back here and have fun with the Zaquencer! -
