Very cool step modes that I like on the GRP A8, are the following:
N,N+1,N: e.g. 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 4, 3, …
N,N,N+1,N: 1, 2, 1, 2, 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, 4, …
That means, before adavancing to the new step, the sequencer steps one back. These repetive modes create very musical variations.
Should not be too hard to implement.December 26, 2014 at 11:20 pm #1785December 28, 2014 at 7:16 pm #1818@robert… this is like the loop progression in the midibox.org v4 and v4l sequencer. Here you can set dif. levels on the jump back. this kind of direction mode is very cool and you can do realy cool rythms.
i had a similair idear to ask for, so nice that you have been faster. Hope this feature will come but i think there a so many request and if they all will be come ???
I also will pay a donation for some new features . And i dont will say that the sequencer is not perfect! i love the zaq

October 10, 2015 at 7:02 pm #3187More directions modes yes. Inspired by midibox mostly I guess. Brownian, drunken, random starts and finishes. Etc etc.
I wonder whether ‘randomness’ would benefit from its own UI location. Similar to ratcheting perhaps. I’d be more than happy to give up a MIDI control if I was using it in a sequence.
Bump from the graaaaave!
October 10, 2015 at 8:40 pm #3190woah now a midi cc?
we dunno about that one hahaha
there needs to be another firmware for that jk
October 11, 2015 at 7:40 am #3196If one of those modes was:
1-8,9-16,1-8,17-24,1-8,9-16,1-8,25-32,
That would be my 64 note cheat request taken care of
Changing modes on the fly would be amazing too!
October 11, 2015 at 12:15 pm #3198To clarify – a ‘randomness’ variable that is implemented like the ratcheting variable (as I understand it from Christian ‘s description so far…)
A bit like the midibox implementation in midisizer’s midiALF.
I get a lot out of short simple sequences set to a random direction.
I guess the ultimate goal is variability across a sequence? One method is the a ‘probability of step’ variable like the LXR.
What an off subject essay! Sorry about that.
