Hi, great job for this zaquencer, is very very cool !
It will be great to play a melody with the keyboard of the zaquencer in note mode with the pattern running.
For example, the zaquencer is playing, in note mode i search a melody with the keyboard and when i put the rec mode, I record my new melody

I would love this feature as well; it would open up a lot of new workflows and uses for the Zaquencer.

To clarify I think what’s being suggested is that when you’re in note mode whatever midi notes coming into the Zaquencer get recorded as note steps on the sequencer.

Sorry, to be more specific what I’m thinking of is expansions to the existing tap-write functionality (maybe incorporating note length or chords somehow)

well, what Guyot was asking for is already possible, isn´t it?

-> enter “INST SELECT” mode, hit “TAP WRITE” / Page > and play notes on an external midi keyboard connected to MIDI IN with the sequencer running.

this will record only midi notes, not note length though (which was Luke was asking/hoping for)…

I think chords cannot be done the way they are implemented, since they use fixed intervals based on the root note put into the sequencer (which is kind of nice since it means it is none-destructive and you can change chords or root notes easily without re-recording!).
