I purchased a new BCR 2000 and installed ok. I have been using it for a few hours while I set up track 1 – 3 with notes from the encoders and drums on track 4.
Initially I could stop start sequences using the button bottom right of the BCR. Now the key is not responding and I cannot start the sequencer.
I’m not sure if I have accidentally pressed something I shouldn’t or if this is a hardware failure. Is there any kind of reset process? I have turned the BCR off and on several times and removed the ac power but still no joy.
Is it worth installing the original BCR firmware again?
June 20, 2015 at 8:59 am #2736Hi Jason,
sorry to hear that you´re having trouble with your BCR.
The way you describe it it sounds like a defective key.
I do not think that this can be fixed by software.
But you can try to re-upload the firmware, this equals a reset as good as can be.Some people have had luck by pressing the key a little harder and it worked then.
I see the following options:
- you could get the key repaired
- you could transfer the license to a new device (please contact us for that under support@zaqaudio.com)
- as a workaround you could use the Zaquencer in Slave Mode (providing external clock from another device). The Start/Stop Key is not used in this scenario as it starts with the signal from the masterJune 20, 2015 at 10:32 am #2738Thanks Christian, actually between your reply and a friends suggestion we fixed it. Somehow I had inadvertently switched from internal sync to external sync as it triggers fine from my Roland MX-1 mixer. Set it back to internal and the key is fine, doh!
Sorry to post what now seems a silly help request, feel a bit of a dumb ass now

June 20, 2015 at 12:10 pm #2740Ah no worries! Great to hear it works and that it wasn´t anything major.
Actually I feel bad now that I did not think of this possibility myself.
Thanks for replying back, I´ll add that to my internal list of troubleshooting-ideas for this caseCheers!
December 6, 2015 at 6:36 pm #3614Hi, I need your help !!
My Zaquencer don’t starts… start/stop button don’t work.
Whith the demo and recently with the firmware works but now don’t
December 6, 2015 at 6:52 pm #3615Hi Diego,
please make sure that the Zaquencer is running in internal clock mode (Global Menu, Encoder 2), so the Start/Stop Key is active. It´s not active by design if you run on external clock. If you want to start the Zaq individually on external clock, please load an empty pattern or mute all the tracks in the Mixer so it doesn´t play. When you want it to play, load the full pattern or unmute the tracks.
Cheers!
