If a step is muted, and you are in the “Note Pitch” mode, you are able to adjust a particular step and it will automatically un-mute.
This would spare us one editing step so this seems like a good idea – I second this request.

No, when a sequence is running and you want to change a pitch, I first mute the step, change pitch and unmuted the step so the pitch change is not heard while turning the encoder.
