when i am playing around with the zaquencer to increase my improvisational wizardry on it there is so far one button assignment that slows me down. it seems hard for my muscle memory to deal with this: the vertical offset between “note length” and “seq length”. i often try to quickly change these two parameters after each other. however i often hit a wrong button because these two are not on top of each other. to me it seems intuitively right if they were directly underneath because they represent the same parameter in different contexts.
so i propose a change in button assignments like this:
note pitch : note vel : note mute : note delay : note length
chord : step skip : seq start : seq offset : seq length

i think the vertical pair “note delay & seq offset” would actually fit quite well, too.

    what do people think?

(still need to explore more “midi ctl, wave gen, clock div, shuffle, direction”)
