    Or:
1st rotary (between seqence-start and end) moves all (between..),
    2nd rotary every 2nd, ect.

I´m still fascinated by the idea of an external controlled freescale below the user scale. One CC (11×11) sets them all, no storage, default always chromatic.

Yes, its`s complicated. A Sequencer can look ahead, but what happens with tempo changes, pattern changes then? Also Zaquencer can have overlappig notes, flam/repeat schould be step-bound. (BTW :velocity control of repeat steps would be another parameter.-))

Could`nt this be unified with the ratcheting task, understanding ratcheting as a timed attribute with positive and negatve length plus density?

For me :especially Repeat! One controller for instrument selection and one for rate would keep it monophonic.

Right o right. My 9 step sequence shifted around the – logically- absolute quantization point, and I managed to miss the right trigger time constantly. A look at the measure counter of my 909 solved the issue tn the morning.

I am using the 909 as a clock without a problem. If you loop back to the 909 switch off soft thru there. Currently, once you started and stopped the 909, you have to press rewind to restart the ZAQ. Disable transpose in the ZAQ or mute note output from the 909. If using ZAQ´s midi thru, be aware, sends controller values from its panel. You can`t switch that – I had to buy a midi-filter.

If a steplength would be divided in 16 substeps with the last substep equals steplength so that:
    - on pitchchange, the noteoff would be played after the next noteon, for fingered legato to be switched
    - with no pitchchange, the noteoff and next noteon would not be played, so the note would be prolonged
we could have short notes/chords and long notes and fingered legato.
We would loose the possibility of overlapping long notes, though.

I think, it`s a good deal. With 4 tracks, I use these for rythmical relevant stuff and keep the layer chords elswhere.

Yes, start playing from pattern-start like midi start.

Is`nt the exit button on top level without funktion?

I 2nd that…and if we had CC-in for the single notes of a user-register, we could, like in my scale thread, evolve our cluster while sequencing.

Nono, these 8 parameters define the output routing of the respective controller part of a track. Thus the way you can for example use controller beta of track 3 modulating the ratcheting of track 1 or another track in a second ZAQ-sequencer. You are then free in the number of steps for the ratcheting loop.
