ok, thanks for the heads-up. i feared as much. was hoping tracktion 4/5 were included, but i guess that’s only the case with other behringer products.
in other news, prices for the bcr2000 are on the rise (used to be €125 on thomann and justmusic, now justmusic has them for €149).
and thomann doesn’t list the bcr2000 anymore, at all. anyone know what’s up with that?January 15, 2015 at 10:12 am #1980yeah, the keyboard controller i once had was like this, too. i did see one with true 14bit midi, though, but can’t remember which it was.
i’ve been using the bcr2000s with 14bit MIDI in bidule for some years now, but now that my BCRs are both zaquencers i think i’ll drop that and go with 7bit again, once i get a new bcr for synths and fx.January 15, 2015 at 9:27 am #1978sounds about right, although PB is actually defined as a 14bit parameter per MIDI spec afaik.
January 6, 2015 at 9:28 am #1906@pure:I second this. 32 patterns, or maybe even half of 192, gimme a sec, 96, would be plenty of patterns in my opinion.
I was also thinking about maybe offering different firmwares, which offer differing feature content. I.e. you could have one bcr running as it is now with 1.01 and another on hypermode, which only comes with 96 patterns, but which in turn would have more CC lanes and per step ratcheting.
i’d be very interested in that.
December 31, 2014 at 1:18 pm #1860i was wondering the same thing about the 192 patterns…
to drive this further off-topic, i finally got my second zaquencer running. yiipieeeeheiyeah, schweinebacke.
December 31, 2014 at 12:32 pm #1858i was thinking it wasn’t possible cause the drums weren’t velocity sensitive. glad you verified it, cause i wasn’t sure i understood it. i was thinking i had simply missed the velocity sensitivity for the drums, somehow.
December 30, 2014 at 10:03 pm #1844i’d love that. i could have one zaquencer do note tracks and the other do CC automation.
then again, i have yet to understand the midi alpha and beta function properly.December 30, 2014 at 5:56 pm #1840Hey zaq,
you can right-click the broken image and select ‘copy link address’ and paste it in a new tab. At least that’s what I did, because I couldn’t see it, either, and I was curious. Quite a nice collection of gear in that picture by Citric.
December 22, 2014 at 6:24 pm #1765I have two old BCRs and they’ve been working fine, except for the button that is the zaquencer’s play/stop button not working unless i push it from an angle, kind of.
December 18, 2014 at 5:38 pm #1732i guess i am lucky that with my two bcr’s i never had that problem. sounds like a pain the behind.
December 15, 2014 at 1:26 pm #1705i’m not trying to rain on anybody’s parade and I guess it is kind of late to suggest this, but wouldn’t it make more sense for the foot switches to do previous/next chain/pattern instead of the first switch doing play and stop since there is already a dedicated play/stop button anyway?
I thought about writing you an email just now, zaq, but i’ll reply here instead. kind of off-topic, but i hope that is okay: My overlay arrived in the mail today and I’ve already applied it to the bcr. before i had to do most things blindly, since my printer isn’t in working condition right now.
and i don’t really have any music online, yet, always felt a little too shy. I once posted an experimental track at kvraudio, i’ll go and see if it’s still available and post a link on the forums, somewhere.
cheers,
fabian -
