i set my mpc1000 with jjos to send a control value when i touch a pad. this way i can trigger any sequence in any order, and record it as a sequence of controller values! i can then make many arrangements in real time, and mix them with my track mute. mpc is great companion to the zaquencer! im sure any decent hardware or software sequencer is…

you could even then record your actual performance into a midi track so you can use zaquncer for something else. its endless endless…

hmm foot switches… maybe you can offer a variety of functionality such as start/stop, next sequence or next sequence bank, program change, momentary/permanent midi cc switch, set all notes to shortest length (while pedal is held) or maybe legato while held, mute/unmute track etc…

also perhaps you could make it store a list of values and cycle between them? if you only put one value in the list, it acts like a momentary or latched value and then alternates with a ‘default’ value? or perhaps another one you set.

btw why couldnt you simply have a list that was note divisions first, and then 1-96 or whatever

it means chose the length in midi timing tics (so the notes can be any length, not just a note division)

i had some anomalies too, try pushing the encoder like a button, seemed to work for mine.
