For anyone following this, the problem went away when we switched to sending NoteOff from the Zaquencer. This will be incorporated in a future update.

We haven´t tested the NI maschine, but chances are it should work fine. You can also try first with the original Behringer firmware or the Zaquencer demo.

We thought about undo during the development and came to the same conclusion as Juan. Frequent saves with reload to ‘undo’ works fine. This way it keeps a bit af the thrill of using analog hardware as well ;)

If I understand, you can already do this by holding the menu button when rotating the encoder and affecting only the ‘selected’ active start-length subsequence…

That´s right. It´s exactly how this was planned, to affect only steps in the active sequence, or “selected” steps.

As a general rule, the Zaquencer License is bound to one BCR device.

Still, if your BCR with a Zaquencer License on it should break, please get in touch with our customer service at support@zaqaudio.com. We don´t want to leave our customers hanging, but we will evaluate every case on an individual basis and reserve the right for asking for proof and denying the support request.

Ok, I wanna make sure I understand your idea correctly.
Can you please give an example with numbers?
Would this span over patterns (and include pattern chain functionality)?

Oh, I somehow missed this thread before.
Great to hear that the overlay arrived safely!

Took 10 days from Germany to the US, that´s not too bad.

Hi Christa, thanks for posting here.
Please note that while it may be connected to the LCDs, it´s not proven to be yet.
So, before desoldering your LCDs, you can actually measure the segments with a multimeter like described here: http://ricardo-dias.com/2013/07/19/repairing-a-behringer-bcf2000/

Quote: “You can do that by selecting the continuity check mode in the multimeter and activating a segment at a time… Testing each segment individually revealed a problem in the left display: two segments were dead. As these were connected to the same matrix of the buttons (in fact one of the common pins shared the same transistor of the faulty column), I carefully removed the left display and ran the tests with the top board connected.”

Please report back with your findings!

I do like the idea of switching to a new paramter by pressing a button (e.g. note pitch) twice.
The problem here is rather that the flash memory for the patterns is already full to the brim, and because of this there is not really a solution to adding per-step-paramters in the first place.

I was wondering about the possiblity of including cv/triggers etc.. in the Zaquencer before. But then it occured to me that you need to have some sort of analog-digital-converter on the chip for that. Even though the footswitch jacks in the back look compatible, they are really only designed for registering a contact/no contact switch.

    Hi David,
    thanks for posting the video!
This is not the behaviour I tried to describe in the “Hardware Issues” post
    https://zaqaudio.com/forums/topic/sticky-hardware-issues

What I tried to describe over there was ghost lights in the LCD (the 4-digit, 7-segment display on the top right), not the encoder rings.

To make even more sure though, I recommend you the following procedure:
    On the original Behringer firmware:
    - try all the encoders for unresponsive or slow behaviour
    - enter the edit mode for every button (hold edit + press button)
=> if it enters, it´s already fine and you can just exit again
Then try uploading our free demo first and check out the buttons/encoders there before your purchase.

Let me know if you have any more questions in this regard.

    Cheers!

Hm… I´ve been trying to think what could be happening here.

    Two things sprung to mind:
    - have you experimented with the note length parameter in the Zaquencer yet?
maybe the notes are set too long?
    - there are two ways of ending a midi note, sending Note Off, or sending Note On with velocity 0 (like we do). Maybe the Pittsburgh doesn´t like it that way?

Thanks for sharing the feature request!
I´m afraid that won´t be so easy to realize though , fitting it in the UI etc.
Have you checked out the “Apply Scale” feature yet? With that you directly apply the scale setting to the notes of the current pattern, modifying the note pitches. This way you can sort of store different scales in different patterns.
