Thanks for the update!
Yup, the flash init LED patterns should have been there at the first startup, right after authorization as well. If the Flash init wouldn´t have happened you would most likely have had no output at all. It does not really sound connected to the behaviour you describe in your first post. A bit hard to say though.
Well, let´s hope it´s fine now, great if you´ll keep us posted here.- This reply was modified 10 years, 1 month ago by Christian.
October 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm #1025I would love to give you a recommendation for a reasonably priced USB Midi Interface, but I´m afraid we don´t have too much experiences with isolated USB-Midi devices. We always used the RME Fireface 400 + 800 Midi Interfaces for our high-end tests but that´s most likely a bit overkill.
Maybe the other members can chime in with their experiences?

October 27, 2014 at 8:54 am #1018Hi Zymos,
this sounds like a lot the multiplexer error described here:
https://zaqaudio.com/forums/topic/sticky-hardware-issuesIf you´re handy with fixing things, maybe that link will help you:
http://ricardo-dias.com/2013/07/19/repairing-a-behringer-bcf2000/I´m sorry there is nothing we can do from the firmware side.
If your BCR is behaving too weird to reasonably keep using the Zaquencer on it, please write us to: support@zaqaudio.com

October 27, 2014 at 8:42 am #1017Ok, good to hear.
Global settings are automatically saved when you exit via “Global” button.
When you exit via “Exit” button, they are active for this session only but won´t be saved, so they are reverted to the last save when restarting the BCR.October 27, 2014 at 8:37 am #1016Hi Theodor,
we´ve done quite a few measurements on Midi clock jitter and found that cheap USB-Midi Interfaces may introduce random delays (jitter) of up to 20 ms, which is a lot. With a good Midi Interface, the syncing to external clock should be as tight as on internal clock.
Cheers!
October 26, 2014 at 12:08 pm #996Hi Theodor and thanks for your question!
The standalone mode should not matter for the upload, as you enter the BCR´s bootloader mode for uploading the firmware, and this is independent of the other modes. Also it doesn´t affect working with the Zaquencer. The mode selection (standalone/universal) is part of the BCR firmware and that gets completely replaced by the Zaquencer.
The Zaquencer always only functions with the standard Midi jacks on the back and not over USB.Cheers!
October 26, 2014 at 9:24 am #993btw why couldnt you simply have a list that was note divisions first, and then 1-96 or whatever
That sounds like a good idea.
October 26, 2014 at 9:22 am #992Hi and thanks for the Feature Request!
We´re already filtering the input of the encoders to minimize erroneous input (it takes 2 encoder steps to register an input). If this is a problem for more users we could look into increasing the filter strength for “on/off” type parameters.
October 26, 2014 at 9:19 am #991That´s all good ideas! Please keep in mind though that one footswitch is essentially one button. There are jacks for two footswitches in the back of the BCR so I can assign two functions. I´m guessing “Start/Stop” and “Next Pattern” take the cake?
I could imagine at some point having more complex functions being triggered by Midi CC (over a pedalboard).
October 26, 2014 at 9:14 am #990Hm, this is highly unusual.
You have the process right, press (and release) the Store button to enter the Store Menu. Then press one of the 16 continuously lit pattern buttons (the two button rows) to store the pattern in that slot.To recall, press (an release) Load button to enter Load Menu. Then press one of the 16 continuously lit pattern buttons (the two button rows) to recall the pattern in that slot.
I haven´t heard of problems with this before. Can you store the Global settings? (this is done by exiting the Global menu by pressing the “Global” button).
October 26, 2014 at 9:10 am #989Hi! Yes it´s possible.
This is a bit hidden in the manual (P. 8):- you can always reinit all flash memory (global settings+patterns) by holding PAGE < (the left Page button) and STOP/PLAY during turning on the BCR. This will, of course, erase all your musical patterns and global settings
October 25, 2014 at 11:28 am #979Great jam! And thanks for bringing some more life into the “Music and Audio Production” forum
October 25, 2014 at 10:26 am #978Ok, please keep me posted on this.
If you haven´t seen it before, maybe this can help you as well with the drums:

The paragraph starting with “To create a drum track…”October 25, 2014 at 10:23 am #977Hi Zymos,
thanks for your question!Once you stick on the Overlay it can be pulled off again but it will most likely be damaged/destroyed in the process. So I would consider it permanent.
You could try to cut out the carrier foil on which the sticker sits to match the sticker. This way you can lay it on and off. I must say I don´t have experience with this though and I don´t know how well the carrier foil will hold over time.
You could also still stick it on the BCR, and then lay on other overlays you create on top. Depending on the top overlay, the buttons should still stick out enough so it´s still fun to use. I tried it with a custom paper overlay on top and for me it would be satisfactory. Of course you´d have to see if that´s the right way for you too.
Cheers!
