Hi Drew,
you´re right, this functionality is not implemented in the Zaquencer.
All Midi messages that the Zaquencer doesn´t recognize are being put through (if thru is enabled).
To provoke the error message that is mentioned in the manual, you have to be in Store Menu and hold down push encoder 1 to initiate the SysEx reception. Don´t know if that´s practical for your case, but have you tried it this way?Best,
ChristianMay 29, 2018 at 8:11 am #6246Hi Michael,
unfortunately I don´t have Live 10 here to test it with.
It works great with Live 9 though. Maybe there is a bug in 10, have you checked the Live forums as well? Some thoughts off the top of my head when I look at your pictures.
Have you tried disabling the Midi inputs that you don´t need, like “Sync”? I know you need “Track” but what about the other two?
Have you tried using the Zaquencer as master clock? Would that fit your workflow?Cheers!
May 20, 2018 at 8:37 am #6229The encoders do not represent a number, but a digit of the response code. Also their value range is from 0-9 and the A-F (capitalization does not matter).
So, with the first encoder you put in the first digit of the Response Code, with the second encoder the second digit etc… until all 8 digits have the correct value.
April 17, 2018 at 8:35 am #6185Hello,
upgrades are free if you have a registered license.
If you bought it directly from our webstore you can find the upgrade in your account.
For used Zaquencer the seller needs to transfer the license to you to be eligible for upgrades. See here under “License”: https://zaqaudio.com/forums/topic/sticky-faq-please-read-these-before-postingPresets stay on the Zaquencer and you do not have to authorize again.
Cheers!
April 17, 2018 at 7:35 am #6183as a workaround you could try to copy your patterns to slots in the right order.
just load a pattern and store it again in a different slot.
be careful not to overwrite good patterns though!
maybe make a SysEx dump for backup before…April 7, 2018 at 8:57 am #6167The pattern chain function is a very simple functionality. You can basically just make the Zaquencer play consecutive patterns in a row, and start again from the first one.
This is how: go to Load menu, hold the button of the first pattern while pressing the button of the last pattern. It will then play the patterns from the first to the last.
Example: hold pattern 2 while pressing pattern 5, then you´ll get 2-3-4-5-2-3-4-5-2- etc…March 29, 2018 at 5:15 pm #6156Hi Dan, please write me a quick email to support@zaqaudio.com so I can reach you per mail.
March 9, 2018 at 11:01 am #6138Hi guys,
ok I have uploaded the beta version with the “all note off” functionality here:
http://zaqaudio.com/files/E071A/Zaquencer_V1_51_Beta_RC1.zip
Just like the regular versions, this will only work if your Zaquencer is already authorized of course. With this version, you can press “page < " and "page >” simultaneously and the Zaquencer will then send all note offs for the midi channels of the 4 tracks (not all 16 midi channels as that would have been too much traffic and is unnecessary).
I know this is a workaround, but I hope that this will help with the “stuck note bug”.
March 7, 2018 at 7:35 am #6118If you want to tweak your synth sound in between, you could try turning off the program change temporarily. You have two options for this, turning it off in the pattern-step (this will then be restored upon (re)loading a pattern), or temporarily switch the Midi Control alpha/beta in the global menu to off.
March 5, 2018 at 10:39 am #6108Hm, sorry to hear that. Have you tried reinstalling the Zaquencer firmware to see if that gets the BCR to install anything? Other than that I´m afraid I´m out of ideas. Maybe the information in this post helps you (even though the problem sounds a bit different): https://zaqaudio.com/forums/topic/neither-demo-nor-original-zaquencer-works#post-2443
March 5, 2018 at 10:36 am #6107Hi Dan,
you can find the part numbers for the encoders in this thread:
https://zaqaudio.com/forums/topic/knobs-replacementI have sourced the top row pots (with pushbutton) once from Mouser.com, but now mine are sold out. Another user, FlavioB, has once sourced them from TRIPLEX (Germany).
I have not found a source for the bottom encoders or the pushbuttons yet.
Another idea would be to get a second cheap BCR for parts.
Yeah too bad the BCR2000 is out of production. I think it came out in 2004 so it had a good run of 13 years.

ChristianFebruary 28, 2018 at 10:10 am #6100Hi walter,
hm this sounds strange. At least the Roland ua-25ex has been reported to work by a user before. Have you installed the Zaquencer firmware yourself with one of those interfaces?
If it´s stuck on Load it means it doesn´t receive any (correct) Midi data. Is the midi in LED blinking on transmit? At this point the only thing I can think of is the cabling. Please check that you have working Midi cables and, most important that you have connected it the right way (interface out -> bcr in)February 8, 2018 at 7:47 am #6081Hi Rich,
BPM is a global parameter. It is stored through the global menu, by exiting the menu by pressing the “Global” button. Then the new value will be loaded as default after boot. If you exit with the “exit” button the params are not stored. This is by design so that there´s the option to make temporary changes.Best,
ChristianFebruary 6, 2018 at 9:45 am #6077Hi Sergej,
thanks for your question!
The internal routing is only working for parameters that produce Midi output.
Ratcheting applies directly to the track itself and does not produce Midi output, so you cannot reroute it internally to a different track. Same with delay.Cheers!
January 17, 2018 at 2:59 pm #6059Hi Harel,
thanks for your question!
It is possible, but you would have to sacrifice one Midi CC track (alpha/beta) for that.
Set it to Program Change in the Global menu and then just send the Program Number from Step 1 of each pattern.Hope this helps!
