Thanks for the suggestion, but time has passed and it turns out I’m not using zaquencer because of the lack of “Song Mode” and have end using the iPad for sequencing.
I want to use serious and live, not (only) to play at home, and in my scheme of ‘one person-only hardware’ that element of automation is essential.
September 19, 2015 at 8:40 am #3064This could be solved too with a “Song Mode”

But maybe this could be done by ‘simply’ let the “Tap Write” mode to write when the clock is stopped… ¿?
January 8, 2015 at 9:04 am #1926Thanks alien, but, if you would like to use an external sequencer I would use Live or Reason in the computer or BeatMaker in the iPad (which is currently my drumbox, waiting to buy a Volca Beats, some MFB or similar).
What I would like is to play live only with hardware (Korg’s MS20 —via Zaq->MFB Urzwerg—, Mono/Poly —via Zaq->BeatStep— and MS2000BR) and for this I ‘only’ need from the Zaquencer to have this (a must for a sequencer in my opinion) ‘song arrangement mode’.On the other hand, although I had discarded them, everyone speaks so highly of the MPC that I whould might consider it if your offer was good.
Anyway I find harder its workflow can be more efficient than Ableton Live or more fun than Reason, and as you can see, a MPC could be too ‘new school’ for my setup…But my first choice remains ‘song mode’ in the Zaquencer, eh?

December 21, 2014 at 11:40 am #1748Perhaps as the BCR has the footswitch, we feel the need to use them.
(Personally I find much more important the issue of ‘song mode’)How about investigate a possible ‘circuit bending’ to turn them into CV and Trigger OUT?
That would be great!(And you could sell both software and circuit kit for those of us who do not like the soldering…)

December 18, 2014 at 6:09 pm #1734I think the most annoying thing handling the Zaquencer when you’re in live is having to use both hands for some functions.
It also happens that there are several «simultaneous pressing functions»
I think a possible ideal use of a pedal would be «press (and hold if the pedal is maintained) the last button pressed» or «…the last simultaneous pressing function button pressed»
As we have two pedals and many ideas and personal preferences, it would be ideal that the other one could be programmed easily, assigning any button (eg holding it some time to come into ‘learn mode’).
November 5, 2014 at 10:31 am #1257November 5, 2014 at 10:10 am #1256I think using the footswitch to star/stop could be a waste (no offense, I think we could find more useful features).
However I find very interesting the next sequence idea by alien_brain.
I thought of an improvement associated with my Song Arrangement proposal.
The footswitch could be assigned to jump to the next song. Thus the stored songs may be sub-sequences within the same real song.
November 4, 2014 at 7:24 am #1226Alternatively maybe you can do a frequent save, and reload to ‘undo’
November 4, 2014 at 7:20 am #1224If I understand, you can already do this by holding the menu button when rotating the encoder and affecting only the ‘selected’ active start-length subsequence…

November 3, 2014 at 10:46 am #1201Me too
October 31, 2014 at 8:39 am #1126Seems I have a ‘Bear Maker’ too
October 31, 2014 at 12:07 am #1123Zaq 1 & 2 -> Korg MS2000BR
Zaq 3 -> iPad+Bearmaker (mainly drums)
Zaq 4 -> MFB Urzwerg -> Korg MS20
BeatStep -> Zaq (clock, as BS only can be master without computer)
BeatStep -> Korg Mono/PolyOctober 27, 2014 at 11:50 pm #1057With the ‘Song Mode’ the Zaquencer could be fully autonomous, without the need for a computer or another sequencer, which is precisely what I, and probably many users Zaquencer wish.
